CYSF Journal: Part 2

Monday August 4th, 2008.

“Good Morning!!!!!”

What the hell is that?

“Good morning!!! Rise and shine!! This is your wake up call!”

Are they serious? LOL….this is funny. Although I was never general of being awaken by loud noises I smiled and I actually enjoyed this one.

Vincy posse are you awake?”

“Good Morning Ryan!” *giggles*

Ryan and that Bull horn. Lol

After breakfast it was time to head off to theeee…..erm….Dudley something hall, which was on campus, for our first addresses. We had to get there by bus! Imagine that.

The first was by Mr. Luis Pineda, CYSF’s visiting scientist, a very important person in the world of IBM. This presentation was very interesting indeed. Technology plays a very important role in today’s world, and you make a good lump sum of money……I even got the chance to ask him a question. That had to do with going green and how IBM is encouraging other persons to Go Green as well. This man is very talented you see. He….it’s just too much to say about this person. Oh he’s the Director of WW Emerging Services and Enablement at IBM Software Services for Lotus to be exact. (this booklet comes in very handy:) )

The second speaker was Dr. Anesa Ahamad. I remember her from this UWI St. Augustine campus booklet. She was a very outstanding student from that school, specializing in cancer research. Now Can you guess what she was talking about then? ‘Cool Careers in Curing Cancer’ was what she spoke about. Lol, the 4C’s. It’s funny that I remember so much from this session because she was going so fast. She is one busy woman. Too bad she only had an hour tho’. It would’ve been nice to hear a lot more about cancer from her. I guess the reason why I found it so interesting was because I knew a bit about cancer myself. Hey I think that’s what I really want to do when I grow up; a cool career in curing cancer :) (I fed up change career goals now lol)

After lunch I was reminded of what was going on with climate change. ‘Managing a warming climate’ was well executed by Miss. Marcia Tinto, however, I had to take notes to stay awake. (Hardly anything I didn’t know before). At least it’s on my Biology syllabus and these notes are sure to come in handy someday:)

The debates begun sometime after that. We, already dressed in our signature t-shirts, headed into another room to anxiously await our team’s argument. Honestly, it was very difficult to stay awake. Ah do all ting. Ah write, ah draw(well attempt anyway…it’s worth a try), ah watch other people. It real hard to keep your eyes open when sleep killing you ana. The debates were very interesting nevertheless, i.e. when I wasn’t doing other things. Some of them were actually funny. Mad funny! LOL….*clap* for those teams….Some of us weren’t that lucky with the sleeping issue. We even had our own paparazzi, taking photos every time someone fell asleep. Ha! You see why I had to stay awake!!! I dor wah my pic up on that screen the night before we leave fuh everybody to laugh at me? Yuh mad! It was finally time to hear what our team had to deliver and truth be it they were good you know, just hope that they were good enough to beat the three remaining teams.

It seems as tho’ the highlight of my days are always in the night. After dinner it was time for some people to make fun of themselves….that’s right Karaoke!! I was so mad because I wasn’t able to sing that night. My voice was still in SVG….hoarse nah….It was fun as much as it was funny!!! Most memorable performances were by the Fatima crew, that guy in the red shirt who was really feeling the song, the Vincy duet (I almost died laughing. Hope they know that I have it all on camera…LOL!!!!!!) and last but not least the ‘Umberella-ella-ella-ey-ey-ey’ performance. Best Karaoke ever! OMG……Classic! I cannot believe I did not have enough space to record that!

Field trips tmr *yawns* I’m so tired, it’s time to get some slee
