Time.....why does it g by so quickly? One week I was in Trinidad another week I'm in school…Aghhhh!!! Why?????!!!!! It seems as though the only thing that’s faster that time itself is light.
It’s the first week of school and it feels like vacation is just around the corner. In just two days the school would be overcrowded and I would have to fight for a seat in the library, empty classrooms would be like good cheap food around here and the tuck shop (I don't' go there anyway) is once again, going to be hot. Oooo I just can’t wait to have younger girls stare at me and speak about me like I was born ear-less….and the ‘bad eyes’ and push mouths. It’s going to be so much fun!!!!!! But like I said I hope I the library does not get too hot and that I can find space in there and erm yea……I should stop complaining….It won't be so bad...right?
I believe that there's a place where social ills go by unnoticed and not talked about, simply because nobody cares about the society, but only for themselves. I believe that there's a place where when children become pregnant everyone accepts it and shuts up. Meh sorry but that place is not SVG, yet. Sadly that's the direction we're heading.
When I see a pregnant young girl, I just want to cry. No no no don't get me wrong. Who cares about the mother. More than likely that child is going to grow up in an unstable home, which is probably the reason for their existence. Do you realize that a society lies in the hands of the family?
We see the effects of unstable families everyday. Every corner you turn there's a fight. Every road you walk you have to dodge bullets. Every store you enter you have to look over your shoulder and hold on to your hand bag (or wallet) for dear life afraid that what you or your parents worked so hard to earn may be taken away from you just like that. Every breathe you take you have to pray that your female friends and family members are safe from the 'raper man' who cannot be found. (That's something else I have to talk about on a serious note). Every step you take it's another youth who wants to have words with you, and no those are not words you would find in the Oxford Dictionary.
The family is the foundation of every society.
I'm tired of seeing so many young girls in such a state. I'm not going to ask how it happened, because I know how it happened. Did he leave you a little present or did he forget something when he paid you a visit? What a surprise that must have been.
I'll stop there for now.
Please note that what I'm about to say may not be the case. I'm only speaking out of anger and that's just the way things seemed to me at the time. It might just be that I'm being ignorant to some facts.
Sometime this week, while on my way to town and bobbing my head to Rihanna's Disturbia, the minibus in which I was travelling was pulled over by a policeman on his search to find part of his salary. I can only imagine the frustration he was experiencing as he fumbled to find a reason to give the minibus driver a case. Or could it be that he just couldn't find a way to put it in writing? After all, how long does it take to write ten words and a few numbers on four little lines? He stood behind the minibus in the broiling sun. What was he really writing on that insignificantly small piece of paper? I wondered if he knew that Laynes was closing in five minutes? Laynes dor wait on nobody ana!!! I took a moment to look for his needle in the haystack of possibilities, a van load ah people did that. Do you know what we came up with? *silence*
Laynes was properly closed by the time we moved off. Thanks officer :).....great job today. We love them anyway right? They help to maintain order in our society though some abuse their right. We still can't live a normal life without them. If a thief comes into your house who are you going to call? A doctor?
I baked cookies on Friday....they're all gone....oh and if you guys want chocolate chip cookies or a cake you could just place an order.....I'm serious ana....
