What my poem really means....

By the response of a few of my friends, I'm guessing that they felt as tho they were in Eng B class again....a feeling that they all thought was gone forever. Sorry ....lol.....

My poem, Catch and Release is centered around a single saying. The phrase "There are lots of fishes in the sea", is one of the most popular phrases said to another when he or she is hurt by the one that he or she has loved. A phrase that is meant to comfort the ears of those depressed by love.

In the first stanza I have placed all these fishes in a lake, "The lake of love and life", and I am one of them. They are all female fishes by the way, and there are male fishermen. It's a brand new day. There's evidence that the persona is a fish for it says "Your face is distorted, in comes your feet." Ever tried looking out of the water when you're under it?

"Playful ripples of interest": pretending to be interested in being with a girl (me) or leading me on

"It stands alone" the hook with the bait.

"Isn't that lovely?" I'm attracted to it...well him, figuratively speaking.....

"I'm a bit hungry"- has nothing to do with desparation....just ties in with the fishing theme.

"Oops"- I got hooked...I liked him

Blah blah....then he just had me there adn fling me bk in the water.....

There you have it: Catch and release....line by line (sorta)....

Soooo....To sum everything up. This poem is about a guy who played with my heart recently. Made me think certain things were going to happen. Had me fooled (Don't think it was intentional....buh still....it hurt)
